The 2007 Charity Gala held at Charlie Palmer’s Astra in Manhattan was a huge success. Honorees included, Valerie Smaldone for her fundraising and building awareness about ovarian cancer; Jenny Craig and her work fighting obesity; and Amber Trivedi from Northwestern Ovarian Cancer Early Detection & Prevention Program. Ms. USA, Sophia Hall, served as MC to the fashion show, where ovarian cancer survivors and models walked the runway in apparel provided by Estelle’s in Farmingdale, NY, and jewelry provided by Jolani jewelers in Port Washington, NY. Proceeds will benefit ovarian cancer and obesity education and awareness.
